A message from Business Agent Ed Duffy regarding AB1839:
AB1839 passed through the Senate Appropriations committee today chaired by Senator de Leon.
Over the next few days final amendments to the bill will be added and subtracted (and dollar figure) along with conversations with the Governor and should be sent to the Senate floor to be voted on in the next 10 days and back to the Assembly for vote with the amendment’s and then to the Governor by August 31st at which time he has 30 days to sign or veto the bill.
This is a crucial time.
If you have not sent a letter or email to the Governor regarding the support of ab1839 please don’t hesitate any longer.

Next week the Union Locals from throughout the State and other supporters will be in Sacramento at the Capitol on Wednesday August 20th for our final mobilization day. Any of you that can get to the Capitol we would love to have you there. The program is from 11AM to about 2PM on the Capitol steps. Of course, we will be there all day speaking to representatives and staff about their support of ab1839 so you cant miss us!
