Contacting Individual Lenders to Help Alleviate Financial Hardship
We have spoken to many Local 399 Members that have shared their success in contacting their individual lenders to help alleviate some financial hardship. We want to urge all Members that may have trouble making their payments in the coming months to contact their individual lenders before becoming delinquent.
This includes:
- Credit Cards
- Car Loans
- Rent
- Mortgages
Governor Gavin Newsom just announced Wednesday that several major banks and other financial institutions have agreed to delay foreclosures and provide mortgage relief to California homeowners struggling to make their monthly payments during the novel coronavirus outbreak. When contacting your lenders, it is helpful to have your account numbers and date of unemployment on hand. Additionally, we have drafted a universal “Teamsters Local 399 Out Of Work” letter for our Members to provide their lenders and are happy to help with more specific employment information when requested.
Never in the history of the Entertainment Industry have we had so many unemployed in such a short period of time. I look forward to saying the opposite is true when this is all over and everyone is back to work. We are working hard to identify additional resources to help our Members in this unprecedented time of need. Please continue to stay connected to our multiple channels of communication for the most up-to-date information from the Local.
If there is anything further we can do to assist you at this time, please let us know.
