Teamsters Local 399 is fortunate to be part of such a strong and unified Joint Council. This past week we spent 2-days at a ‘Right to Work for Less’ Seminar hosted by our Joint Council 42. Thanks to Joint Council 42 President Randy Cammack for his dedicated leadership and guidance in uniting our great Joint Council, he was able to bring together over 300 Officers, Trustees and Business Agents for this important seminar.

It was encouraging to be in a room surrounded by our strong Teamster Sisters & Brothers and know we are not alone in this fight. We were equipped with skills and information that we are looking forward to bring back to our Membership to take action against National Right to Work as well as all other threats that are being brought against our Union Sisters and Brothers in California and across the nation.

We left the seminar encouraged that we can win this fight. However more than anything we need YOU, our Members, onboard. We are strong because of you, we are powerful because of you, and we will continue to fight for the rights of ALL working people because of you.

Special thank you to: IBT General Secretary-Treasurer Ken Hall, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the California Labor Federation Art Pulaski, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO Rusty Hicks, JC 42 Director of Organizing and Teamsters Local 1932 Secretary-Treasurer Randy Korgan, IBT Consultant Dennis Reardon, IBT Assistant to the IBT General President Christy Bailey, President of Teamsters Local 299 Kevin Moore, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 222 Spencer Hogue, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 631 Tommy Blitsch, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 14 Andy Marshall, WCTPT Co-Chair Chuck Mack, IBT Public Services Division Director Michael Filler and Secretary-Treasurer of Local 2010 Jason Rabinowitz.

We also want to extend a huge thank you to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Congressman Adam Schiff (D-28) for sending in a video message for all in attendance. We are lucky to live in a city in which the elected officials support the best interest of Unions and working families and they will actively will join us in the fight to preserve what the middle-class has worked so hard to build.

We will share the link to their video messages soon.
