Thank you to everyone that made it out this morning to our 1st General Membership Meeting of the year! This meeting was an important one and addressed a major topic for upcoming negotiations: New Media. In our April Newsreel we will be providing a recap of Organizer & Business Agent Lindsay Doughtery’s presentation. Business Agent Chris Sell also provided a great update regarding the ELD Exemption that Drivers in the Motion Picture Industry have been granted. For more information about the ELDs please click here.
We will be sending out an email in the coming week with more information that was shared through this meeting and ways to get involved both within Teamsters Local 399 and throughout the greater Los Angeles to help strengthen the labor movement both locally and nationally in 2018. Click here if you are a Local 399 Member and are not subscribed to Emails or Text Messages.
We are grateful for each and every Member that attends these meetings and stays educated with our Local’s operations. This will be a big year for Local 399 with many contracts up for re-negotiation as well as the fight for our Feature Film & Television Tax Incentives.
We want to thank the leaders of the Basic Crafts for being in attendance at this meeting as well as Colonel Timothy Ingram for addressing the Membership about how our Brothers & Sisters could be key players in emergency response efforts as part of the Sate Military Reserve. More information about how to get involved will be shared via email and on our website next week.
We had a lot of NEW Members sworn in today! We want to welcome our New Sisters & Brothers to the Local 399 family. We are proud to represent you and excited to have you as part of our Local.
