We had a great Shop Steward Training this past Saturday at Pickwick Gardens! We are grateful to all of our Shop Stewards that were in attendance, as well as Members that were interested in learning more about the role of a Shop Steward.

We will be featuring our Shop Stewards in our July 2018 Newsreel to help the Membership identify their Steward, learn about the important role they play in our Union, as well as how Local 399 plans to further engage with them to benefit our Membership.

We want to give a BIG thank you to Sally Payne from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for teaching the training. Sally is an expert at strategic planning and has been with the IBT for over 30 years in the Training and Development Department. We are extremely grateful for the inspiring and educational training she prepared. Sally stressed the importance of active organizing and the constant need to foster and instill solidarity amongst our Members.

Our Shop Stewards and Members in attendance provided great feedback and had some wonderful ideas as to how we further engage the Membership. We will be working to implement some of their ideas soon.
