Take a look at some events and opportunities taking place this week that have been organized by way of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor and Labor Community Services to support our Members and Union Families throughout Los Angeles.

MEMBERS IN NEED OF FOOD ASSISTANCE:

If you or your family are in need of immediate or extra food assistance for the next week, please take advantage of one of these 3 food distribution events being hosted THIS week. In order to ensure everyone’s safety and protection, all distributions are drive-thru only so you must be in a vehicle. Whether you are in need of immediate food assistance or are looking for a way to safely pick-up additional food for your family, these are great opportunities for Union Members.

We are grateful to the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, Labor Community Services and all involved in planning these events to serve the Los Angeles Labor Movement in this time of great need.

TODAY: Wednesday, April 8th – Burbank

Thursday, April 9th – Van Nuys

Friday, April 10th – Inglewood

LOS ANGELES FEDERATION OF LABOR VOLUNTEER CORPS:

We encourage Members that are in good health and looking for ways to give back to the community to register with the LA Labor Volunteer Corps, being organized by the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor. We want to remind you, you are not expected to take any volunteer opportunity that is sent to you, as the LA Federation of Labor will simply make you aware of what is available as the situation continues. As we have explained to Members over the past several weeks, the threat of contracting this virus is real. Please consult your own healthcare provider if you believe yourself or any of your loved ones to be in a high risk category. Your safety is our utmost concern and we urge you to listen and follow all Local, State and CDC guidelines to protect yourself and your loved ones should you go out into the community to serve.

In times of great struggle we are encouraged by the strength of our Los Angeles Labor Movement that is committed to protect our own, as well as the greater community around us. There is strength in solidarity and I hope all Members feel part of the larger Labor movement as each Union, Local and Member plays an important role to support one another in this time of crisis. Please stay safe and let us know if there is anything else we can do to support you and your family during this difficult time.
