Teamsters Joint Council 42: Midterm Endorsements

Use your voice & VOTE this November 6th!

When working people stand together and fight — we win.

Below is a list of Candidates that have been endorsed by Teamsters Joint Council 42. This list is compiled after extensive interviews have been conducted with potential candidates seeking a Teamster and Labor Endorsement. Each Local in our Joint Council selects a representative to attend Candidate interviews and together the group asks questions on behalf of their individual Locals, as well as the Labor Movement at large. Together they determine whom they believe will serve the best interests of working people and working families. We certainly aren’t telling you how to vote, but we are encouraging you to take a hard look at who has stood by the side of Labor and who hasn’t. Who has had our Members best interests in mind and who is serving the best interests of corporations and the top 1%.

One important race is right in our own backyard. Many of our Members live in the 25th Congressional District. This district includes Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster and the northern part of San Fernando Valley. Currently the seat is held by Congressman Steve Knight. This Midterm, we ask our Members to ‘Remember in November’. Remember, Steve Knight co-sponsored the “National-Right-To-Work” Act on June 22, 2016. We did not support his decision to sell out Union Members then, and we will not support him now. Join Teamsters Joint Council 42, the Los Angeles Federation of Labor and the California Federation of Labor as we push to elect Katie Hill to serve the 25th Congressional District. We believe Katie Hill will be the Labor leader we need representing our Members in the 25th Congressional District, as well as in Washington. At a time when worker’s rights are being attacked, we must elect individuals that will stand and work with, not against, Union Members and working families. We will be posting about opportunities with the Los Angeles Federation of Labor to phone bank for Katie Hill soon!

Let your voice be heard and VOTE on November 6th.
